Job Opportunity: Med/Surg Nurse - Flexible Day Shift

Location: Tuba City, Arizona
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Summary

The Clinical Nurse provides a variety of nursing care procedures requiring professional knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions and treatments. The role requires the ability to work independently to complete assignments following physician orders, standards of care, nursing policies, and hospital procedures. Nursing duties include support to individuals of all ages and their families.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in an acute or sub-acute facility.
• License: Valid, current, full, and unrestricted Nursing License to practice in any U.S. state, territory, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
• Certifications: Must have and maintain throughout employment:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Complete Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) within six months of hire
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) within six months of hire

Additional Information

• Orientation sessions occur every 2 weeks.
• COVID and flu vaccination exemptions may be accepted after submission of a declination form.
• Limited housing options available: shared housing units at $600 per month (based on availability). No family or pets allowed in housing.
• Housing application must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start date.

Location & Community

This position is located in a culturally rich, diverse community in Northwestern Arizona, serving a large rural area including Native American tribes such as Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute. The healthcare facility provides a wide range of services including inpatient/outpatient emergency care, surgical procedures, dental, ophthalmology, orthopedics, OB/GYN, and more.
