Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Burlington, Vermont
Employment Type: Travel / Contract
Contract Length: 20 weeks

Job Description

• Position in adult echo lab performing cardiac sonography.
• Minimum of 7-8 studies per day.
• May float to outpatient facility.
• Some on-call duties may be required.
• Patient population includes inpatient (IP), outpatient (OP), and ICU.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of cardiac sonographer experience, including experience within the last year.
• Certification: ARDMS or CCI required.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association required.
• Experience with Epic EMR system required.

Schedule

• Monday through Sunday (no block schedules).
• Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays.

Additional Requirements & Information

• Complete and detailed work history required (including bed count, EMR, facility type).
• All employment gaps over 30 days must be explained.
• Reliable personal transportation is strongly recommended; public transportation is not accessible.
• Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November through April.

Required Compliance & Documentation

• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
• Education verification as applicable.
• Various certifications verification including ACLS, BLS, PALS (as required).
• State license primary source verification within 30 days of start.
• Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as required.
• Color blindness testing.
• Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry consent and searches.
• COVID-19 vaccination or declination and questionnaire.
• Flu vaccination or exemption documentation (seasonal requirement).
• Physical exam within 12 months of start.
• N95 fit test prior to assignment and updated annually.
• TB testing and questionnaire.
• Immunizations: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap.
• Drug testing as required.
• Professional references: 2 verified from assignments within last 3 years.
• Skills checklist within 12 months.
• Work history verification for last 2 years.

Important Notes

• No block scheduling allowed.
• Orientation and training modules (EPIC and others) must be completed prior to start.
• Masking and COVID testing protocols must be followed strictly.
• Time-sensitive document submissions required (photo for badge, auto registration form, consent forms).
• Auto insurance required if using a personal or rental vehicle.

This position is ideal for experienced cardiac sonographers with recent EPIC experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment with a diverse patient population.
