Description

Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse - Nights

Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: Nights
Hours: Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
Unit: Float required, weekends as needed
Patient Population: Stroke patients and surgery patients
Telemetry: Central monitoring tech available 24/7; no need to interpret dysrhythmias
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers welcome

Required Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as applicable
PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, MAB, CPI as applicable
Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable

Licensure

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for New Mexico
Primary source verification required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background check: 7-year history, updated annually
Drug screening: Negative 10-panel within 90 days of start
Physical exam within 12 months of start
Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually
Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
Fingerprinting required onsite during orientation (New Mexico placements only)

Education verification required (transcript or diploma accepted as placeholder if needed)

Employment application and work history verification (7 years) required

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
