Job Opportunity: Licensed Masters of Social Worker (LMSW)
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position: Inpatient Case Management Social Worker
- Shift: 5 days a week, 8-hour day shifts
- Start Date: ASAP
- Weekend work required
- No on-call duties
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs may be required
- Block scheduling not accommodated
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
- Pending Alaska license accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license in Alaska
- Minimum of 1 year of LMSW experience within the last year
Facility Type
- Acute Hospital
- Magnet Facility, Level II Trauma Center
Certifications (as applicable)
- Alaska LMSW or LCSW License
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (verify per unit requirements)
- Other certifications may be required based on unit or specialty (verify with clinical guidelines)
Additional Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- TB test or chest X-ray (annual update required)
- Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates
- Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/subcontractors)
Work Environment & Other Details
- Charting system: Epic
- Scrub color provided
- Free parking available
- Guaranteed 72 hours per 2 weeks; traveler may be called off for one 8-hour shift every 2 weeks
Notes for Recruiters and Healthcare Workers
- Candidates must be prepared to float within their scope of practice to meet facility needs
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position
- Pending licenses are accepted, but must be for Alaska LMSW or LCSW
- Locals (within 50 miles) are not eligible for this travel contract
- Compliance with all health, background, and credentialing requirements is mandatory prior to start
