Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Nurse (Night Shift)

Location: Delta, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide professional nursing care for assigned patients in the emergency room.
• Triage patients and determine priority of care based on physical, psychological, and social needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow.
• Manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform patient care tasks including moving patients, taking blood samples, cleaning and bandaging wounds, administering medications, and maintaining supplies.
• Conduct focused assessments of chief complaints promptly according to established triage guidelines.
• Deliver patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, functioning within the Nurse Practice Act.

Required Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) in the State of Colorado.
• At least 2 years of experience in critical care nursing preferred.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required upon hire.
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 6 months; ENPC preferred.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required upon hire or within 1 year.
• Specialty certification in emergency nursing preferred.
