Location: Chewelah, Washington

Job Details

• Schedule: 1.2 FTE (48 hours/week), 6 shifts per week, 8 hours each (1500-2330)
• Unit: Emergency Department only
• Floating: Yes, position may float between units
• On-call: No
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Block Schedules: No
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6-7
• Facility Type: Critical Access
• Total Staffed Beds: 23
• Charting System: Epic

Required Qualifications

• Valid EMT / ER Technician license in Washington
• Minimum 1 year of EMT / ER Technician experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Education verification required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • TDAP (within 10 years) or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Respirator clearance required annually for travel candidates
• Fit mask testing required for travel candidates (updated annually)

References & Employment History

• Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Employment application covering at least the last 5 years

Additional Notes

• Floating policy acknowledgment required
• Completion of required regulatory and specialty-specific training modules annually via LMS platform
• No on-call required, but weekend shifts every other weekend are mandatory
• Position does not allow 48-hour work weeks (max 48 hours approved is No)

This position is ideal for ER Techs with at least one year of emergency room experience, comfortable working in a rural critical access hospital setting, and able to meet all certification and compliance requirements.
