Description

Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Location: Sitka, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Summary

This role is based in the Operating Room and involves supporting a wide range of elective and emergency surgical cases, including abdominal, thoracic, urology, ENT, plastic, orthopedics, vascular, and OB/GYN procedures. The nurse will efficiently multi-task to ensure surgical cases proceed smoothly throughout the day. The position includes after-hours call coverage for nights, holidays, and weekends.

Required Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN, Associate Degree, or Diploma)
Valid, current, full, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska at time of submission
Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience
Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS
Experience in Critical Access Hospitals and/or rural Operating Rooms is strongly preferred
Flu vaccine required

Additional Information

Start date will be at least 5 weeks after fingerprint cards are received for processing; travelers must schedule fingerprint appointments promptly to avoid delays
Applicants must live at least 50 miles away from the work location
No housing or flight accommodations provided
After-hours call coverage required (nights, holidays, weekends)
