Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for:

  • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Flu vaccine during flu season or signed declination
  • COVID vaccine or signed declination
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
• Respirator fit testing (Fit Mask) required for travel starts after 2/5/2024, updated annually
• Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
• Education verification and employment application covering last 5 years (7 years for APN/subcontractors)
• Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within the last 3 years
• Skills checklist updated annually as applicable

Training and Modules

• Completion of required regulatory and specialty-specific training modules annually via LMS platform
• Epic system training modules required prior to or shortly after start
• Facility-specific float policy acknowledgment required

Additional Notes

• Floating to other similar units within a reasonable distance may be required
• Block scheduling accommodations are at manager discretion
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
• Pending licenses are not accepted for this assignment

This position offers an opportunity to work in a 200-bed acute care hospital with a focus on Labor and Delivery nursing in California. The role requires flexibility with floating and weekend shifts, along with current certifications and compliance with health and safety documentation.
