Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse to work as a Case Manager in an acute hospital setting. This is a travel contract position requiring an active Alaska RN license. The role involves working day shifts with a schedule of 5 days a week, 8 hours per day. Shift times vary between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Weekend work is required every other weekend or 4 weekend days in a 4-week schedule. The position does not require on-call duties but involves floating within scope to meet facility needs.

Work Schedule

• Shift: 5x8 (five 8-hour shifts per week)
• Shift Times (may vary):

  • 07:00 - 15:30
  • 07:30 - 16:00
  • 08:00 - 16:30
  • 08:30 - 17:00
• Weekend Requirement: Yes (every other weekend or 4 weekend days in 4 weeks)
• Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
• Time Off Requests: Limited to one 5-day or less request per 13-week assignment; no holiday time off for auto offer

Required Qualifications

• License: Active Alaska RN license in hand (pending license not accepted for auto offer)
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) required
  • ACM (Acute Care Management) certification preferred
• Skills:

  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system required
  • Acute care experience required
• Other:

  • Must be willing to work weekends as specified
  • Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
• Immunizations and screenings including:

  • TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (declination accepted)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination (positive titer and vaccine series required for Alaska placements)
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Respirator fit testing (annual requirement for travel starts on or after 2/5/2024)

Background and Compliance

• Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• Education verification required (nursing degree verification)
• Employment application covering last 5 years (7 years for advanced practice nurses/subcontractors)
• Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
• Various state-specific background and registry checks as applicable

Training and Competency Requirements

• Completion of required WorkRamp modules including:

  • Annual regulatory requirements
  • Specialty-specific modules for case management and acute care nursing
  • Basics of trauma-informed care (required prior to start)
• Competency exams as applicable
• Epic training and access modules required

Additional Notes

• Parking is free
• Scrub color provided
• Guaranteed minimum hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for one 8-hour shift per 2 weeks)
• No block scheduling accommodation
• No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers accepted
