Travel Registered Nurse - Newborn Nursery

Location: Statesboro, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), call required

Job Description

• Provide nursing care to Newborn Nursery patients during the immediate neonatal phase.
• Utilize the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering safe care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
• Floating required between departments in the Women's Pavilion.
• Call requirements: 2 twelve-hour call shifts per 6-week schedule (one must be a weekend shift).
• Patient ratio: 1:3 couplet care or up to 5 patients per nurse if not in couplet care.
• Care includes well couplets, GYN patients, occasional float to nursery for well baby holds, and transition nurse functions.
• Unit has approximately 20 beds.
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems used: CPN (GE) and Cerner.
• Scrubs color: Navy.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursery experience, including experience within the last year.
• Completion of 2 or more travel nursing assignments.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Ability to float between departments in the Women’s Pavilion.

Additional Information

• 48-hour weekly guarantees cannot be approved.
• Blocked scheduling may be approved if weekend call requirements are met.
