Description
Job Opportunity: Dietitian
Location: Spokane, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Flexible start times available between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM; scheduling can be adjusted to fit traveler’s needs.
- Position requires floating between units, including coverage at a secondary hospital location (notification provided in advance).
- No on-call, weekend, or block schedule requirements.
- Patient load: approximately 8-10 patients per day.
- Must have recent inpatient adult Registered Dietitian experience within the last 6 months (excluding internship).
- Proficiency required in enteral and parenteral nutrition order writing.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system is required.
- Inpatient acute care experience is mandatory; will cover inpatient adult patients at both hospital locations.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) license in Washington State.
- Minimum of 6 months experience as an inpatient adult Registered Dietitian Nutritionist within the past year.
- Experience working with adult patients in an inpatient setting.
- Proficient in enteral and parenteral nutrition order writing.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required depending on clinical track.
- Other certifications (PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, etc.) as applicable per clinical track.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation.
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination
- Respirator fit testing required annually for travel candidates.
Additional Requirements
- References: Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment.
- Completion of required competency exams and skills checklists as applicable.
- Completion of required regulatory and specialty-specific training modules annually via LMS platform.
- Photo for badge with neutral background required prior to start.
Work Environment
- Short Term Acute Care facility with Level II Trauma Center designation.
- Use of Epic electronic health record system.
- Patient care primarily inpatient adult population.
Notes
- Floating between hospital units is required but scheduled with advance notice.
- No weekend or on-call shifts required.
- Flexible scheduling options available.
