Registered Nurse (RN) - Renal Medical-Surgical Unit (Night Shift)

Job Overview

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care on a 21-bed Renal Medical-Surgical unit specializing in patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, post-dialysis needs, and complex medical-surgical conditions. This is a high-acuity unit with a diverse patient population requiring continuous monitoring, frequent assessments, and multidisciplinary coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult renal and medical-surgical patients
• Manage patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and post-dialysis needs
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry
• Collaborate with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Float as needed within scope to similar Med-Surg units, including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED boarders

Schedule

• 36 hours per week
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 3 years of Med-Surg and Telemetry experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips
• Experience with Epic EMR

• Must demonstrate adaptability, efficiency, and strong critical thinking in a high-volume setting
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 36 hours during the 13-week contract
• All requested time off must be disclosed at submission and included in the confirmation to be honored
