Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse practices independently in a similar clinical setting, providing both routine and complex care. The nurse manages clinical situations by making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of assigned patients, with attention to psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs. The nurse administers medications and treatments following protocols, monitors effectiveness and side effects, and documents patient information. Patient and family education is also a key component of the role.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
Minimum 1 year of experience in Labor & Delivery nursing specialty preferred
Perinatal RN Residency or recent experience in a Perinatal Setting preferred

Licenses & Certifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact license
Current certification in either AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA only)
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA only)

Additional Information

Newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days.
New hires will be precepted by a trained staff member and must complete organizational and Perinatal Services-specific competency validations.
Annual competency verification requirements must be completed.

Work Schedule

Full-time, Night Shift (7 PM - 7 AM)
