Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse
Location: Santa Monica, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Start Date: ASAP
- Experience Required:
- Current acute hospital experience required.
- Candidates must have worked in the role within the last 6 months.
- Patient Ratios: 1:20
- Weekend Requirement: At least 2 weekends in a 4-week schedule.
- Knowledge Required: Interqual and Epic systems.
- License: California state nursing license required. Pending license accepted.
- Return to Office Restrictions: No more than 7 days.
- Dress Code: Business casual with lab coat or dark solid scrubs with lab coat.
- Facility Type: Acute Care Facility.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California (pending accepted).
- Acute Care Case Management experience within the last year (minimum 1 year).
- Completion of at least one travel assignment.
- Current acute hospital experience with recent role experience within the last 6 months.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Certifications (as applicable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Chemotherapy certification (if applicable)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (if applicable)
- IV Certification (if applicable)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (if applicable)
- NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) (if applicable)
Note: Certification requirements may vary based on unit and specialty.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required and updated annually.
- Immunizations and/or titers for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (vaccination series or signed declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
Background and Compliance
- Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
- Education verification required for nursing degree.
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years.
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
- Various state-specific background and registry checks as applicable.
Additional Requirements
- Completion of required WorkRamp training modules prior to start, including:
- Annual regulatory requirements
- Specialty-specific modules (e.g., ER, ICU, L&D)
- Regional and facility-specific modules
- Epic system training and transcript submission required.
- Float policy acknowledgment may be required (ability to float to other nearby facilities).
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
- Candidates must have current acute care experience; no acceptance of candidates without recent experience in the role.
- Weekend shifts are mandatory to meet department needs.
