Job Opportunity: Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Eureka, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer for an acute care hospital setting. This is a travel contract position open to first-time travelers and local candidates.


Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Echo Technologist experience
  • Echo Technologist experience within the last year
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • RDMS - AB (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - American Board) certification

Facility Type

  • Acute Care Hospital
  • Total staffed beds: 150

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:
    • TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
    • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Respirator safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
  • Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including state-specific searches as applicable.
  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
  • Employment application covering at least the last 5 years.
  • Skills checklists and competency exams as applicable.

Training & Competency

  • Completion of required WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:
    • Annual regulatory requirements
    • Specialty-specific modules for Radiology/Cardiology roles
    • Epic training modules as applicable
  • Medication and pharmacology competency exams as required.
  • Color blindness testing may be required on a unit-by-unit basis.

Notes

  • Locals are accepted.
  • First-time travelers are accepted.
  • Facility issues radiation badges as needed.
  • Candidates must comply with all state-specific licensing and background check requirements.
  • Floating policy acknowledgment may be required.
