Job Opportunity: Rehab Registered Nurse

Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Description

Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts
Patient Ratio: 1:7
May float to long-term acute care or other units managing MS patients
Charting system: Epic
The unit does not accept first-time travelers

Specialty Experience

Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience preferred

Certifications Required

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
NIH Stroke Certification (as applicable)

Additional Certifications (as applicable)

PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
CHEMO (Chemotherapy)
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)

Facility & Patient Care Focus

Rehabilitation care for patients recovering from stroke, orthopedic surgeries, brain injuries, and other debilitating conditions
Multidisciplinary team approach including physicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff
Emphasis on family involvement and education
Use of advanced rehabilitation technologies and evidence-based practices
Commitment to patient safety, dignity, and respect

Required Qualifications & Compliance

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Minimum of 2 years of rehabilitation nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
Candidates residing in certain Texas counties are not eligible for this assignment

Various competency exams and core testing may be required depending on role and agency status
