Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 4x10 hour day shifts

Job Summary
Seeking a Cath Lab Tech with experience in Radiology/Cardiology to work in an acute hospital setting. The role involves working in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization labs, including STEMI, IABP, Impella, Tandem Heart, structural heart procedures, interventional radiology, neurointervention, and CRM device implants. The clinician may float within scope to Interventional Radiology (IR) and Electrophysiology (EP) departments.
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of specialty experience (Radiology / Cardiology)
- Prior travel experience not explicitly required (first timers accepted)
- Experience required in:
- Electrophysiology (EP)
- Interventional Radiology (IR)
- Vascular procedures
- Monitoring
- Neuro experience
Certifications & Licenses Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- ARRT (R) or RCIS certification required for Cath Lab
- Must hold a valid license appropriate for Cath Lab Tech specialty
Work Schedule & Requirements
- 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each
- On-call required: 1 shift per week plus every 4th weekend
- Some Saturdays required as part of regular schedule (not extra shifts)
- Floating to other units (IR, EP) as needed
- Local candidates not accepted (must live at least 50 miles from facility)
- Time off requests: 1 approved time off per 13-week assignment
- Guaranteed 70 hours per 2 weeks, with possibility of being called off for 1 shift every 2 weeks

Preferred Skills (Not Required)
- CTO (Chronic Total Occlusion) procedures
- Peripheral interventions
- Venous access
- Rhythm interpretation
- Experience with Philips X-Ray system
- Use of atherectomy and thrombectomy devices
- Temporary LVAD support
- Familiarity with McKesson and MacLab/Cardio Lab systems
Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Drug screen: 10 panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Respirator fit testing required annually (travel only)
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years
Onboarding & Training
- Completion of required WorkRamp modules (regulatory, specialty, and facility-specific) prior to start
- Epic training modules required for charting system proficiency
- Float policy acknowledgment required
Notes
- Candidates may be required to float to other related units within the hospital system
- Time off and scheduling accommodations handled on a case-by-case basis
- This is a travel contract position; local candidates are not eligible
