Job Opportunity: Medical Lab Scientist

Location: Aspen, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs routine and special laboratory assays of patient specimens across all sections of the Clinical Laboratory as a generalist. Responsibilities include:

Obtaining data for diagnosis and treatment of disease
Exercising independent judgment to evaluate the validity of test results before reporting
Operating and calibrating all equipment in the area of specialization
Communicating test procedures and results with physicians, pathologists, and nursing staff

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology
ASCP certification
Minimum of 3 years of Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) experience
Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) experience within the last year

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with EPIC system
Experience with Vitros, Unity, and WellSky systems
ASCP specialty certifications
Bilingual in Spanish

Additional Information

Travelers are responsible for securing their own housing. Housing costs are high, especially in winter. Nearby towns such as Basalt, Carbondale, and Glenwood Springs may offer more affordable options.
Typical rent for a 1-bedroom apartment in Basalt is around $3,500/month.
Not accepting Respiratory Therapists (RT).
