Job Opportunity: Outpatient Clinic Cardiology Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Tarzana, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Description

• Work in an outpatient cardiology clinic setting.
• Assist with Nuclear Medicine Stress Testing.
• Monitor Nuclear Stress Tests and Treadmill Stress Tests.
• Assist with vein ablations.
• Medication mixing and administration.
• IV initiation for procedures.
• INR management (both home and in-office).
• Manage medication.
• Respond to a high volume of patient messages via EPIC (experience preferred).
• No weekends or call required.
• Locals accepted.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
• Minimum 3 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience, including cardiology experience.
• At least 3 years of clinic experience, with clinic experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Work Schedule

• 40 hours per week guaranteed.
• No weekends or on-call duties.

Required Competencies and Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable).
• Competency exams as required by specialty.
• Color Blind Testing if specifically requested.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years.
• Education verification required (nursing degree verification).
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
  • COVID vaccine or declination
• Respiratory safety clearance required for travel candidates (annual).

References and Employment History

• Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
• Employment application covering at least the last 5 years required.

Additional Notes

• EPIC experience preferred; candidates will be required to complete EPIC training modules.
• Various mandatory online training modules and regulatory requirements must be completed prior to or shortly after start.
• Float policy may require assignment to other nearby facilities within reasonable distance.
• Fire Card certification is required; if not obtained prior to start, must be completed within 30 days post-start.
• Locals are accepted for this assignment.

This position offers a focused outpatient cardiology nursing role with specialized duties related to stress testing and medication management in a clinic setting. It is suitable for RNs with at least 3 years of experience and a valid California RN license.
