Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Burlington, Vermont
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks
Job Description
- Inpatient Respiratory Therapist needed for Adult ICU, Emergency Department (ED), and Level III Neonatal ICU (NICU). Pediatric ICU (PICU) experience preferred.
- Schedule includes weekends as needed; no call required.
- Schedule flexibility is a must.
- Backfill need with ASAP start.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Vermont
- Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
- Current certifications issued by the American Heart Association:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Experience in a teaching hospital setting
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system
Certifications & Compliance
- Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
- Education verification as applicable.
- National tech certification verification within 30 days of assignment start.
- State license primary source verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration.
- Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as required.
- Annual color blindness testing.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- N95 fit test required prior to assignment start and updated annually.
- Required vaccinations or documentation:
- Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B series and titer or signed declination
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Flu vaccine or approved exemption during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
- COVID vaccination or declination
- Pneumonia vaccine or declination if assigned to New York facility
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within past 12 months; annual TB questionnaire if positive.
Additional Requirements
- Complete all required facility-specific documents and forms prior to start.
- Complete EPIC and Cornerstone training modules before assignment.
- Provide professional references from assignments within the last 3 years.
- Skills checklist within 12 months.
- Work history verification for the past 2 years.
- Reliable transportation is essential due to lack of public transit options.
Work Environment
- Assignment includes adult ICU, ED, and NICU Level III.
- No block schedules; shifts may be Monday through Sunday.
- No call responsibilities.
- Teaching hospital setting.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced RRT with recent Epic experience and flexibility in scheduling, seeking a travel contract in Vermont.
