Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Shift: 3x12 variable shifts
• Call: 24-hour call coverage for the hospital, shared among the team, including 1 weekend per month on call
• Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for one 11-hour shift per 2 weeks)
• Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live at least 50 miles from facility)
• First Timers Accepted: Yes

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an EEG Technologist
• EEG Technologist experience within the last year

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background Checks: Must be current and cover all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; includes SSN trace, education verification, and other standard checks.
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Immunizations including TDAP, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccine (seasonal), COVID vaccine or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • Drug screening (10 panel) within 90 days of start
  • Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates
• References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment history
• Skills Checklist: Required annually for applicable units

Training & Competency Requirements

• Completion of required competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
• Completion of facility and specialty-specific WorkRamp modules annually (including regulatory and specialty-specific training)
• Epic system training modules completion required prior to or shortly after start
• Additional training may include basics of trauma-informed care and crisis prevention, depending on role and unit

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be prepared to cover 24/7 call on a rotating basis with the team
• Floating to other units is not required or expected
• This is a travel contract position; local candidates are not eligible
• All certifications must be current and from approved organizations (e.g., AHA for BLS)
• Facility provides scrubs and free parking
