Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Job - California
Location
- City: Eureka, California
- Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital
- Total Staffed Beds: 150
Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day shift, 8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM), 40 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Floating: Required to float between like units
- Block Scheduling: May be accommodated at manager's discretion
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in California
- Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Therapy
Documentation & Compliance Requirements
- Background Check:
- Must be within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Includes SSN Trace, Death Master Index, Nationwide and County checks, Sex Offender Registry, FACIS Level 3, Education Verification, MVR (if applicable)
- Updated annually; special state-specific searches may apply
- Employment Application:
- Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format
- References:
- Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Physical Exam:
- Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Must indicate free of infectious disease and ability to work with or without accommodation
- Drug Testing:
- 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
- Immunizations & Health Requirements:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection control policies
- Respiratory Safety Clearance:
- Required annually for respirator use (travel only)
- Fit Mask Testing:
- Required annually for travel candidates; may be completed onsite
Training & Competency
- Must complete facility-specific and regional mandatory training modules annually via LMS platform (WorkRamp)
- Epic electronic health record training required prior to or shortly after start (varies by region)
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Color blindness testing may be required on a unit basis
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
