Registered Nurse (RN) - OR Circulator / Pre-Op / PACU

• Lamar, Colorado

Work Schedule

• Day shift: 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
• Occasional late days to complete surgical case loads
• Rotational surgical call averaging 1 to 2 days per week
• Call coverage every other weekend or every third weekend, depending on staffing
• 40 hours per week

Job Description

• Provide direct patient care across three surgical service areas: Pre-op, OR (Circulator), and PACU
• Function as a primary caregiver in all three areas; must have experience in all
• Surgical cases include General, OB/GYN, Ophthalmology (cataract surgery), and Orthopedics (1-2 times per month)
• Responsibilities include patient assessments, documentation, emotional support, coordinating transfers, patient recovery, circulating cases, assisting with instrument/equipment processing, and patient education
• Adhere to infection control principles and departmental policies
• Follow national standards (IAHCSMM, AORN, ASGE, ASPAN)

Physical and Mental Demands

• Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with diverse individuals
• Long periods of standing and walking, heavy lifting
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, and unpleasant sights/smells

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Colorado
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in Pre-Op
• Experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• ACLS certification

Reporting

• Reports to the Surgical Services Manager or designee
