Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Eureka, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Work in an acute care hospital setting with 150 staffed beds.
- Daily caseload: 8-12 procedures.
- Procedures include coronary artery disease diagnostics and interventions, peripheral vascular disease diagnostics and interventions, cardiac arrhythmias, and permanent pacemaker placements.
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10 hours per day (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM).
- Call required; no weekend or floating requirements.
- Orientation: 30 hours.
- Locals and first-time travelers accepted.
- Facility supports block scheduling and offers assistance with housing, including realtor services if needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in California.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year.
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required.
- Fluoroscopy permit required (pending permits considered if already applied for).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; updated annually.
- Drug screen: 9-panel within 12 months; instant tests acceptable with attestation.
- Physical exam within 1 year, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation.
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; updated annually.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season.
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with masking requirements.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use.
- Drug screen attestation required if instant drug screen used.
- References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.

- Acute care hospital with Epic electronic health record system.
- Scrub colors provided for Cath Lab staff.
- Free parking on the first day; assignment parking provided during orientation.
- Located near multiple state and national parks, offering abundant outdoor recreational opportunities.
Additional Notes
- Radiation badges issued by the facility as needed.
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks despite guaranteed hours.
- Candidates with pending fluoroscopy permits must have applied prior to submission.
- Prior travel experience is not required.
