Job Opportunity: CT Tech

Location: Santa Rosa, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Evening (5 shifts per week, 8 hours each, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 40


Facility Overview

  • Acute Care Hospital
  • 277 staffed beds
  • Charting system: Epic
  • Free parking available
  • Imaging Tech scrub color: Black
  • Floating between similar units required
  • Weekend shifts required on a rotating basis
  • Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager’s discretion

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in California
  • Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
  • ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT R)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Venipuncture Certification

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • ARRT (Registered Radiologic Technologist)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Venipuncture Certification
  • California RT license with CPDH certificate required

Work Requirements

  • Must be willing to float between like units
  • Weekend shifts on a rotating schedule required
  • Locals accepted
  • Pending licenses not accepted
  • Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be included at time of submission
  • Facility may call off once per two-week pay period

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Social Security Card (for Washington state OBRA search if applicable)
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly
  • Education verification required (international education requires diploma/transcript)
  • Employment application covering last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work
  • Drug screen (9 panel) within 12 months of start; instant acceptable if paired with attestation
  • Immunizations and health documents:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
    • COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
  • Respirator clearance required annually for travel candidates (RespSafety virtual questionnaire)
  • Fit mask testing required for travel candidates, updated annually

Training & Competency Requirements

  • Completion of Providence WorkRamp modules prior to start and annually thereafter, including:
    • Core regulatory modules
    • Specialty-specific modules for Radiology/CT Tech roles
    • Facility-specific modules as applicable
  • Epic training modules completion required (transcripts must be submitted)
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Color blindness testing if required by unit (minimum 80% score)
  • Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units

Additional Notes

  • Float policy acknowledgment required; may be required to float to other nearby Providence facilities
  • Radiation badges issued by facility for applicable units
  • Background checks and other compliance documents must be current and uploaded as required
  • Candidates must meet all state-specific requirements for California and any other states involved in assignment

This position offers a structured evening shift in a busy acute care hospital setting with opportunities for first-time travel techs. Candidates must be flexible with floating and weekend rotations and meet all licensing, certification, and compliance requirements.
