MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

- Thursday: 10:30 AM – 11:00 PM
- Friday: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Saturday: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Call Requirement: None

- Scheduling Type: Per Unit Needs
- Scrubs: Royal blue
Required Qualifications
- Valid MRI Technologist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience
- MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- At least one completed travel assignment; first-time travelers will not be accepted
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
Orientation & Start Details
- Orientation hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Hospital orientation during week one; full availability required for all classes
- Start date is subject to change based on class and trainer availability; travelers may start Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of the first week
- Missing any portion of orientation may delay or cancel the start
- No Return to Office (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation
Additional Requirements & Expectations
- Must be available to work on Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events or disasters
- May be reassigned to different units or centralized office mid-contract as needed
- Must submit a passport-style photo on a solid white background for badge creation immediately after signing contract
- Required to complete facility-specific education and compliance training modules prior to or during assignment
- Must comply with hospital policies, confidentiality agreements, and medication safety training
- Required health documents include:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (or proof of past positive TB with appropriate documentation)
- Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
- Drug screening within 6 months of start date
- Background checks and verifications required as per clinical candidate standards
Patient Diagnoses
- Required: Adolescents, adults, geriatrics
- Preferred familiarity: Neonates, infants, pediatrics
Equipment & Systems
- MRI machines: GE, Siemens
- Unit systems: EPIC (medication, documentation, communication)
Important Notes
- Radiation badge required for certain radiology roles; if applicable, will be arranged
- Candidates must complete all required competencies and certifications as outlined by the facility
- Candidates must provide proof of completing the facility’s Corp ID setup process prior to start
- Candidates must be fully available with no other commitments during orientation and start week
This position is ideal for experienced MRI Technologists with prior travel experience seeking a 13-week contract in North Carolina with no call or float requirements and a defined weekend/night shift schedule.
