Nuclear Medicine Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Mission Viejo, California
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Primarily working in PET (Positron Emission Tomography), with possible float to Nuclear Medicine as needed.
- Shift options: 4x10-hour days or 5x8-hour days, day shift (8:00 AM - 6:30 PM).
- Call required: post-shift and rotating weekends; travelers may be exempt from call depending on experience but must be open to it.
- Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered.
- Local radius: 50 miles.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist with a minimum of 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification
- BLS certification
Facility & Work Environment
- Acute Care Hospital with Magnet recognition.
- Total staffed beds: 426.
- Free parking available.
- Scrub color for RNs: Royal Blue.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Social Security Card (for specific state requirements).
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- Education verification required.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instant tests acceptable if paired with attestation.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted.
- Respirator medical clearance required annually for travel candidates.
- Drug screen attestation required if instant drug screen used.
Additional Requirements
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment.
- Skills checklist required for applicable units, updated annually.
- Float policy acknowledgment: may be required to float to other nearby facilities.
- Completion of required WorkRamp training modules prior to start, including annual regulatory and specialty-specific modules.
- Epic access training and transcripts required for SoCal and other specified regions.

- Candidates must be open to call and weekend rotations as needed.
- Scheduling flexibility is limited; outside employment scheduling requests are not accommodated.
- First-time travelers with less than 2 years of experience will be carefully screened.
- Background checks and immunization requirements are strictly enforced.
