Job Opportunity: Wound Care Registered Nurse

Location: Apple Valley, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (11:00 AM to 11:30 PM)
• Schedule: Block schedule Monday-Wednesday; flexibility for Monday-Saturday considered; no Sundays
• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
• Call Requirement: No on-call duties
• Charting System: Epic (experience highly preferred)
• Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital with 212 staffed beds
• Parking: Free

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of wound care experience, including experience within the last year
• Wound Care Certification or WCON required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background Check: Must be completed within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
• Education Verification: Required for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report
• Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation
• Immunizations & Health Requirements:

  • TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
• Drug Testing: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months; instant tests acceptable with attestation
• Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required annually for respirator use (travel only)
• Fit Mask Testing: Required annually for travel candidates; completed onsite if no valid record
• Work History: Employment application covering at least last 5 years; gaps or overlaps must be explained
• Skills Checklist: Required annually for applicable units

Training & Competency Requirements

• Epic Experience: Highly preferred; candidates must complete Epic training modules as assigned
• Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
• WorkRamp Modules:

  • Annual regulatory and specialty-specific modules required prior to start and annually thereafter
  • Modules assigned based on region, specialty, and facility requirements

Additional Notes

• Local candidates within 50 miles radius are considered
• Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered
• Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities
• Badge photo required for identification purposes
