Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a CVOR Tech with experience in cardiovascular and vascular surgery cases, trauma level II, and working with adults through geriatrics. The role involves supporting multi-specialty inpatient, outpatient, and emergent surgical procedures including trauma, organ harvesting, and various surgical specialties.

Work Schedule

• Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (6:15 AM – 4:45 PM)
• Call Requirement: 2 days per week and every third weekend
• Float Requirement: Yes, may float to Main OR and Vascular OR as needed
• Weekend Requirement: As needed
• Patient Ratio: 1:1

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1.5 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist
• CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
• Experience working with adult and geriatric patients
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a community hospital setting
• Experience with additional surgery case types: Endo/Laparoscopic, ENT, General, Gynecology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Plastics, Urology
• Experience with organ donation
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record system

Orientation & Training

• Unit Orientation: 40 hours
• Scrubs: Provided
• Use of systems: EPIC, Pyxis, SBAR communication

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background check within 6 months for clinical candidates
• Drug screening within 6 months of start (9-panel acceptable)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year of start (with exceptions for past positives)
• Required immunizations and titers: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Physical exam and references as per travel healthcare standards
• Completion of facility-specific education modules and compliance training
• Photo for badge (passport style, white background, business attire) required immediately after signing contract
• Confidentiality agreement and hospital policies acknowledgment required

Additional Notes

• Must complete medication safety training and other facility-specific mandatory education
• May be required to complete trauma nursing core course (TNCC) and other certifications as applicable
• Floating to other OR units as needed requires flexibility
• Prior travel experience is mandatory for this role
