Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Eureka, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Work in the Cath Lab performing diagnostic and interventional procedures related to Coronary Artery Disease, Peripheral Vascular Disease, and Cardiac Arrhythmias, including permanent pacemaker placements.
  • Daily caseload: 8-12 procedures.
  • Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10 hours per day (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM).
  • Call required; no weekend or floating requirements.
  • Orientation: 30 hours.
  • First-time travelers accepted.
  • Locals accepted.
  • Facility may allow 1 shift off per 2 weeks.
  • Open to block scheduling accommodations.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in California.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required.
  • Fluoroscopy Permit (pending permits considered if already applied for).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
  • Immunizations and screenings required:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted).
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required).
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted).
    • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with masking requirements.
  • Fit mask testing required annually (onsite if no valid record within 1 year).
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant tests acceptable with attestation).
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use.

Background & Documentation

  • Government-issued photo ID and Social Security card required.
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually.
  • Education verification required.
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment.
  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
  • Additional state-specific background checks and attestations may apply.

Additional Notes

  • Radiation badges issued by the facility as applicable.
  • Candidates must comply with facility float policy acknowledgment (may be required to float to nearby facilities).
  • Annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules required via online learning system.
  • Epic training modules required for charting system proficiency.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a nationally recognized acute care hospital with a strong focus on cardiac interventions, located in a scenic area with abundant outdoor activities.
