Nuclear Medicine Tech Travel/Contract Job
Location: Mission Viejo, California
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Primarily working in PET imaging, with possible float to Nuclear Medicine as needed.
- Shift options: 4x10 hour days or 5x8 hour days, day shift (typical hours 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM).
- Call required post-shift and rotating weekends; travelers may be exempt from call depending on experience.
- Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered.
- Local radius for assignment is 50 miles.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California.
- Minimum 6 months (0.5 years) of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience within the last year.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Certification by ARRT (N) or NMTCB.
Licensure & Certifications
- California state license for Nuclear Medicine Technologists required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Other certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) may be required based on clinical track but not specified as mandatory here.
Work Environment
- Acute Care Hospital with Magnet recognition.
- Total staffed beds: 426.
- Free parking available.
- Charting system: Epic.
- Scrub color for RNs: Royal Blue (for reference).
Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Must be open to floating to other Providence facilities within a reasonable distance as per float policy.
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually.
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 12 months of start.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination accepted.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season.
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
- Fit mask testing required annually for travel candidates.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
Documentation & Verification
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years required.
- Education verification required.
- Background checks include SSN trace, death master index, sex offender registry, education verification, and state-specific searches as applicable.
- Photo for badge required prior to start.
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS required.
