Registered Nurse - Infusion (Travel/Contract)

Location: Napa, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule & Work Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
  • Start times vary between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM
  • Floating between like units required
  • Block scheduling possible at manager’s discretion
  • Guaranteed hours with potential for one call-off every two weeks
  • Locals not accepted; first-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 1 year of infusion nursing experience, with infusion experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) or Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification
  • Must be able to float to similar units

Required Certifications (as applicable)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation approved
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation approved
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - if applicable
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - if applicable
  • Chemotherapy certification - if applicable
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) - if applicable
  • IV Certification - if applicable
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - if applicable
  • NIH Stroke Certification - if applicable
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - if applicable

Note: Certification requirements may vary based on unit and clinical track.


Background & Screening Requirements

  • Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • Education verification required for nursing degree
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
  • Work history verification and references: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years required
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use (travel only)
  • Fit mask testing required annually (travel only)
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
    • COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)

Additional Requirements

  • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) required
  • Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
  • Must complete Epic training modules as required by facility
  • Float policy acknowledgement required

Notes

  • Pending licenses are not accepted
  • Return travelers with less than 30-day gap may have some background and drug screen waivers
  • Prior travel experience is not required for this assignment

This position offers an opportunity to work in a well-equipped acute care hospital with a focus on infusion nursing, requiring flexibility to float between units and maintain required certifications and compliance with health and safety standards.
