Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Position
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Neurology, Palliative Care
- Shift: Night
- Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Number of Openings: 1
- Float Requirements: Must float when needed
Unit Information
- Unit: 5 West
- Number of Beds: 41
- Patient Ratio: 6:1
- Equipment: Alaris IV pumps
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
- Patient Population: Med/Surg, Oncology, Neuro, Palliative Care
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alabama
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Nasogastric Tube (NGT) placement skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience specifically in Medical-Surgical nursing

- Dress Code: Navy scrubs required; fleece is not acceptable attire

- This is a travel nursing role requiring flexibility to float to other units as needed.
- The unit cares for a diverse patient population including oncology and palliative care patients.
- The facility uses EPIC for documentation and Alaris IV pumps for medication administration.
