Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: 3x12 hour variable shifts (Night 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM / Day 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for 1 shift per 2 weeks)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Floating: May float to like units within scope if needed
Block Schedule: Not accommodated
Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live at least 50 miles from facility)
First Time Travelers: Not accepted

Unit Information

High Risk Labor and Delivery unit
OB Triage/Testing: 5-10 patients
Labor & Delivery/Antepartum: 7-14 patients
Facilities include 10 OB Triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, 4 PACU rooms
Average daily deliveries around 7, with up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
OB Triage averages 4-5 third trimester testing patients plus daily triage influx

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Alaska
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
Completion of at least one travel assignment
BLS issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
ACLS
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
