MRI Technologist - Janesville, WI

Job Type

• Contract position
• Contract length: 12 weeks

Work Schedule

• 2 twelve-hour shifts and 2 eight-hour shifts per week
• Includes weekend and call rotation
• May require flexible hours, alternate shifts, and call as needed

Job Description

• Perform MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation
• Prepare patients for procedures and provide instructions to ensure cooperation and minimize anxiety
• Apply magnetic resonance safety principles to protect patients, self, and others
• Operate MRI system, surface coils, physiologic gating devices, and associated equipment
• Position patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest while ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Immobilize patients as needed for examinations
• Select appropriate pulse sequences based on protocols and data acquisition factors
• Perform venipuncture, start and maintain venous access, and prepare/administer contrast media
• Verify consent and screening forms using appropriate scripting, barriers, and identifiers
• Assist physicians with interventional procedures
• Practice aseptic technique and observe universal precautions
• Evaluate image and data quality; manipulate and reconstruct digital data for display with proper identification
• Use radiology information systems (including PACS) to complete records, reports, and submit images for review
• Provide physical and psychological support to patients during procedures
• Initiate basic life support when necessary
• Provide practical instruction to partners and students
• Participate as part of a multidisciplinary team, including committee work and projects as requested

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT Radiography certification
• ARRT MRI certification
• Current BLS certification
