Description

Registered Nurse - Surgery (Travel)

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7 AM – 3 PM (schedule may vary based on case start times)
Work Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
Work Type: Full Time

Job Summary

Provide circulating nursing care in the operating room with experience in surgical specialties including ENT, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, Gynecology, and Plastic Surgery.
Practice independently in a clinical setting, managing routine and complex care.
Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers to manage clinical situations effectively.
Deliver nursing care consistent with ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administer medications and treatments following protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
Experience in surgical specialties including ENT, Ophthalmology, OB/GYN, and Plastic Surgery
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
