Dialysis Technician (Contract)

Location: Janesville, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours per Week: 40


Job Summary

Seeking experienced Dialysis Technicians to provide specialized direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include initiating and discontinuing dialysis treatments, monitoring patients during treatments, maintaining dialysis equipment, and ensuring compliance with infection prevention protocols.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain dialysis equipment in coordination with the Biomedical Team.
  • Perform daily and intermittent water room checks and monthly water room disinfection as required.
  • Record equipment status, repairs, and regulatory documentation.
  • Interview patients and collect assessment data including vital signs (pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight).
  • Set up patient stations and dialysis machines pre-treatment; clean and take down machines post-treatment.
  • Cannulate patient access and remove needles after treatment completion.
  • Initiate and perform dialysis treatments; collect lab specimens.
  • Perform dialysis catheter care including access, flushing, and heparinization.
  • Conduct water, dialysate, and machine safety checks; collect samples for testing.
  • Inventory and order medical supplies.
  • Monitor vascular access and collect related data.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement, education, and training activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (NNCC or BONET certification).
  • Minimum of 1 year of Dialysis Technician experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Current BLS certification.
