Description
Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks (may be called off for 1 shift per 2 weeks)

Unit & Facility Overview
- Unit: High Risk Labor & Delivery, OB Triage/Testing, Antepartum
- Patient Volume: Average 7 daily deliveries, up to 14 with inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
- Facility Type: Acute Hospital, Magnet Facility, Level II Trauma Center
- Beds: 407 staffed beds
- Charting System: Epic
- Parking: Free
- Scrub Color: Provided
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
- ACLS certification
- AWHONN Intermediate or AWHONN Advanced certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Work Requirements & Conditions
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: May float to like units within scope as needed
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
- Local Candidates: Not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility
- Time Off: Approved individually upon offer; all requests must be included in submission
Training & Competency
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Required for all L&D RNs; can be met by AWHONN or NCC certification or by completing the Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring Assessment exam
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Required as applicable
- Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually for applicable units
Documentation & Compliance
- Employment Application: Must include at least last 5 years of employment with month/year format
- Work History Verification: Required if requesting exceptions to reference requirements
- Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with neutral background required
- Annual Regulatory Modules: Required annually via LMS (Workramp) for all caregivers, including specialty-specific and regional core modules
- Epic Training: Completion of Epic modules required as assigned

- Candidates must comply with all state-specific and facility-specific background and credentialing requirements.
- All certifications must be current and issued by approved organizations (e.g., AHA, AAP, Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation).
