Job Opportunity: PACU Registered Nurse

Location: Healdsburg, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Variable day shift start times: 7:00, 9:00, 10:00, or 11:00 AM
• 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (40 hours/week)
• Includes day variable plus call shifts
• Must be willing to float to nearby facilities (Petaluma and Santa Rosa)
• May assist at other facilities and support PreAdmit Phone Calls for Surgery

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation
• Fit mask test (respirator fit testing) valid within 1 year, updated annually (travel only)
• Immunizations and/or proof of immunity or declination for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles (Rubeola) – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Mumps – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Rubella – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B – vaccination series or signed declination
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or signed declination
  • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to infection prevention measures
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
• 9 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)

Background and Verification Requirements

• Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
• Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start, updated monthly
• State-specific searches as applicable (e.g., Washington State Patrol Search)
• References and work history verification as required
• Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background) may be required

Additional Information

• Must be willing to float to other facilities within a reasonable distance
• Required to complete annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
• Candidates with international education must provide additional documentation for education verification
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
