Job Opportunity: Outpatient Clinic Registered Nurse

Job Description

• Role in an outpatient neurology clinic (not inpatient bedside).
• Typical weekly workload includes:

  • 8 infusion orders
  • 50 refills
  • 15-20 prior authorizations
  • 50 patient calls/MyChart advice
  • 15-20 office visits
• Use of MoCA (Montreal Cognitive Assessment) for mild cognitive impairment screening.
• Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
• Locals and first-time travelers are welcome. No weekend or on-call requirements. No floating between units.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Minimum 1 year of neurology experience, with neurology experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

• Interview will be conducted via Teams; candidates must provide 3 available interview times.
• Candidates should consider comfort with the Eureka area and housing costs before applying.
• No weekend or on-call shifts required.
• Locals accepted but not required.
• Must complete required annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via the employer’s LMS system.
• Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start required. Instant tests acceptable.
• Employment application must include at least the last 5 years of employment with month/year format.
• Skills checklist required annually for applicable units.

Summary

This is a travel RN position in an outpatient neurology clinic in Eureka, CA, requiring at least 1 year of RN experience, preferably with neurology and infusion experience, and strong familiarity with EPIC. The role is day shift, Monday through Friday, with no weekends or on-call duties. California RN licensure must be current and in hand shortly after start. Comprehensive background, health, and competency requirements apply.
