Weekend Field RN

Location: Battle Creek, Michigan
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Saturday & Sunday, 7:00am - 11:00pm
Hours per Week: 40

Job Summary

Provide participant-centered nursing care through in-person assessments and regular field visits. Deliver essential nursing services such as wound care, IV hydration, lab draws, and health assessments. Coordinate with primary care providers and support staff to ensure appropriate levels of care. Document all interactions and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct participant assessments to determine appropriate care levels (emergent, urgent, non-urgent, home care).
• Respond promptly to communications from primary care providers and support staff; document calls and follow up as needed.
• Perform full body assessments and nursing tasks during home visits, including routine, acute, and non-acute care.
• Provide education and support to participants, families, and facility staff.
• Collaborate with providers, staff, suppliers, and other care partners.
• Initiate emergency treatments and document new orders as necessary.
• Complete documentation for falls, medication errors, incident reports, grievances, and other quality measures.
• Participate in orientation, in-service programs, staff meetings, and performance evaluations.
• Adapt to changing workloads and communicate issues to leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Michigan
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Home Health experience within the last year
• Experience working with Geriatric patients in a Long Term Care setting
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Work Environment

• Frequent interruptions and visible presence in the center.
• Communication with staff, participants, caregivers, and external organizations as needed.
• Work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays as required.

• Prior travel experience is not required.
