Radiology Tech - Acute Care

Location: Bozeman, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Noon to Midnight

Job Summary

Provide acute care radiology services including X-Ray procedures to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Perform fluoroscopic and portable radiography exams, including services in the OR, Trauma, NICU, CCU, and ED.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technologist license in Montana
• Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
• American Heart Association BLS certification

Preferred Skills & Competencies

• Competency in advanced imaging techniques including fluoroscopic/C-Arm in OR, Trauma, and portable radiography within 6 months
• Ability to perform US-guided paracentesis, thoracentesis, and arthrocentesis alongside radiology providers
• Experience assisting with fluoroscopically guided PICC placements
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to work varied shifts and flexible schedule including weekends and after-hours
• Ability to handle stressful and emotionally challenging situations professionally

Essential Job Functions

• Perform radiographic exams as requested by healthcare providers
• Conduct fluoroscopic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures alongside radiology providers
• Educate patients on preparation and post-care for radiology procedures
• Complete documentation for interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams
• Assist with distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures
• Retrieve written orders and related health information
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Educate radiography students, new hires, and colleagues on diagnostic and operative exams

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds
• Use upper body strength for patient assistance and CPR
• Ability to sit, walk, or stand for eight or more hours daily
• Work extended hours beyond a standard 40-hour week, including on-call availability

• Bloodborne pathogens (blood, bodily fluids, tissues)
• Radiation exposure during imaging procedures
• Chemicals and medications used in healthcare settings
• Infectious diseases from patient contact
• Emotionally challenging situations involving distressed patients or families

Additional Information

• Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances.
