Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Tech

Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (9:00 AM to 5:30 PM)
- No weekends or holidays required
- Optional call shifts available (Monday-Friday 4:30 AM - 10:00 PM; Saturday-Sunday 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM) with 60-minute response time, but not mandatory
Job Description
- Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures including PET scans
- Prior PET scan experience preferred but training available onsite
- Reduced orientation: 0 hours Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) compared to standard 40 hours
- Orientation shifts likely during first two weeks from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine
- No first-time travelers accepted; candidates must have at least 2 years of experience
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Current California State license for Nuclear Medicine Tech (NMTCB or ARRT accepted)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Other certifications may be required based on clinical track (verify with credentialing)
Orientation and Training
- Orientation shifts scheduled 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, likely for first two weeks
- Onsite training available for PET scans if prior experience is lacking

- 426 staffed beds
- Charting system: Epic

Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 12 months of start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
- Respirator medical clearance required annually for travel candidates
- Fit mask testing required for travel candidates (updated annually)
Additional Requirements
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment with explanations for any gaps or overlaps
- Skills checklist updated annually as applicable
- Photo for badge required prior to start (passport style with neutral background)
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Must comply with float policy (may be required to float to other nearby facilities within reasonable distance)
- Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered
- Local radius for assignment is 50 miles
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California
- Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Certification by NMTCB
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
