Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

Location: Lubbock, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Patient Ratio: 1:1
Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center
Total Staffed Beds: 379


Job Description

  • Position is for an Acute Care Physical Therapist.
  • No floating between units.
  • No on-call, weekend, or block schedule requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
  • Fit mask test required for travel candidates (updated annually).
  • Immunizations and documentation required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years; declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer (declination accepted)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer (declination accepted)
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
    • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (updated as needed).

Background and Compliance

  • Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually.
  • Education verification required for all candidates.
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years required.
  • Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting.
  • State-specific background checks and registries as applicable (e.g., Washington State Patrol Search, OBRA Registry for CNAs in WA).
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.

Uniform and Appearance

  • Licensed personnel dress code: solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs (scrub tops may have colored piping).
  • Print tops not allowed except in specific pediatric or women's services units.
  • Free parking available in unrestricted employee/visitor lots.

Additional Notes

  • Annual mandatory training modules via LMS (Workramp) required, including regulatory, specialty-specific, and regional core modules.
  • Badge photo required (passport style with neutral background).
  • Float policy acknowledgment required; candidate may be asked to float to other nearby facilities within the system.
