Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse
Location: Santa Rosa, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Call shifts on weekends and during the week
- 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license valid in California
- Minimum years of specialty experience: Not explicitly stated; default to standard RN requirements
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as applicable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) certification if applicable
- Chemotherapy certification if applicable
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification if applicable
- IV Certification as required
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification as required
- NIH Stroke Certification as required (renew every 2 years)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification as required
- NURSYS license verification required for all RNs
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Competency exams as applicable by specialty/unit
Experience & References
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates
- Work history verification may be required if reference exceptions are requested
Background & Screening Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated monthly
- Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires additional documentation
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instant tests acceptable except for some cases
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
- Fit mask test required annually for travel candidates (onsite testing available)
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
Facility & Compliance Requirements
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Float policy acknowledgment: may be required to float to other nearby facilities
- State-specific requirements apply if working in Washington or Oregon (e.g., state patrol searches, OBRA registry for CNAs)
- WA multi-state licensed nurses must complete demographic attestations prior to start
