Physical Therapist - Outpatient
Location: Napa, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Schedule:
- Monday–Thursday: 9:30 AM–6:00 PM
- Friday: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
- Primarily outpatient care with a focus on orthopedic rehabilitation
- Additional exposure to geriatric and neurological populations
- Opportunity for a blended role across outpatient, acute care, and inpatient rehabilitation settings
Required Qualifications
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist in California
- Outpatient orthopedic experience preferred; acute care or inpatient rehabilitation experience also considered
Certifications & Licenses
- Must hold a valid Physical Therapist license for California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required depending on clinical track
- Other certifications (e.g., PALS, NRP, Chemotherapy, EFM) as applicable per clinical track and specialty requirements
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (e.g., Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 verification)
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually
- E-Verify attestation required
- Education verification required (degree/diploma/transcript)
- State-specific background checks and registries as applicable
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable)
- References: Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation
- Immunizations and/or proof of immunity or declination for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (vaccination series or signed declination)
- Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season (declination acceptable)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated candidates must follow infection prevention protocols
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use (travel only)
- Fit mask test required for travel candidates, updated annually
Training & Competency
- Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp) as applicable
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
Additional Information
- Float policy acknowledgment required; may be asked to float to other nearby facilities
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required
- Epic training modules may be required depending on assignment location
