ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: West Hollywood, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts; 36 hours/week)

Job Summary

• ICU Float Pool role with assignments across multiple units including Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, PCU, Overflow PACU, Stepdown, and Transplant float units.
• Units include high acuity areas such as Neuro ICU, Respiratory Failure/Vent Support, Acute Myocardial Infarction with complications, and Transplant (Liver, Kidney, Pancreas, Heart/Lung).
• Facility is a comprehensive transplant center; preference for RNs with transplant patient exposure.
• 24 beds per Adult ICU.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• PA line experience.
• Proficient in intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring.
• Experience with conscious sedation.
• Skilled in managing PA lines.

Additional Requirements

• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days allowed; no RTO within the first 2 weeks of assignment.
• Background Checks: Criminal background check within 6 months required, including SSN trace, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international criminal searches if applicable.
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions.
  • Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (N95 or equivalent).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; additional TB questionnaire if history of positive.
  • Immunizations: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for measles, mumps, rubella; 2 varicella vaccines or positive titer; Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31).
  • Drug screening panel within 1 year excluding marijuana/THC.
• Photo for Badge: Must provide a professional photo meeting strict guidelines for badge creation.
• References: Two professional references required, at least one supervisory.

Work Environment & Notes

• Float pool nurses will be assigned to various ICU and stepdown units based on need.
• Night shift options include 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Large hospital experience is required.
• Orientation includes competency exams and certification verification.
• Fire safety training/course required within first 6 months of employment.

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs comfortable with high acuity patients, multiple specialty units, and flexible floating assignments. Prior PA line experience and strong critical care skills are essential.
