Scientist - Lab (Travel Position)
Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures including specimen processing, testing, quality control, and reporting results.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments; perform minor repairs or notify biomedical support.
- Cross-train in multiple laboratory sections as needed.
- Utilize Laboratory Information System for data entry and verification.
- Notify and document critical laboratory values.
- Participate in development and implementation of new testing procedures and protocols.
- Perform patient-oriented tasks such as phlebotomy when required.
- Adapt patient care methods to meet population-specific and developmental needs.
- Comply with all regulatory and policy requirements.
Work Schedule
- Multiple shifts available, primarily day shift (05:00-13:30) and evening shift (13:00-21:30)
- Full-time employment
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Medical Laboratory Scientist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
- Education equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
Licenses/Certifications
- Certification as MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT required.
