Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Marshall, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Work Schedule: Full Time

Unit & Patient Population

Patient types include Emergency Department (ED), trauma, medical, critical care, and pediatrics.
May be floated to other ED departments as needed.

Job Summary

Independently provides routine and complex nursing care in an emergency setting.
Utilizes nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Manages psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers.
Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year.

Certifications & Licenses

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
