Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Pediatrics (Outpatient)
Location: Everett, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Outpatient Pediatric Occupational Therapist role.
- Start date: ASAP.
- No weekends or float required.
- First-time travelers are not accepted.
- Locals are not accepted.
- Clinician may be called off for one 8-hour shift per two-week period.
- Facility uses EPIC for charting.
- Parking is paid by the facility.
- Scrub color: Any except reddish orange.
- Facility is a Level II Trauma Center with 571 staffed beds across campuses.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pediatric Occupational Therapist license in Washington.
- Minimum 1 year of Pediatric Occupational Therapist experience within the last year.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) certification.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 and state registry).
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- Additional background screenings including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start, updated monthly.
- Education verification required.
- Washington State Patrol Search (WATCH) required within 90 days of start.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted).
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies.
Certifications (Must be current and valid)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- NBCOT Certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – verify if required per clinical track
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – verify if required per clinical track
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – verify if required per clinical track
- Other certifications (e.g., Chemotherapy, TNCC, EFM) only if applicable per clinical track or specialty requirements.
Competencies and Training
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Competency exams required as applicable by specialty.
- Annual completion of facility-specific and regional regulatory training modules via LMS.
- EPIC training modules required prior to or shortly after orientation.
Additional Requirements
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years.
- Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable).
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required.
- Float policy acknowledgment: may be required to float to other nearby facilities.
